A contemporary solar home.

Designed for a hillside lot, this contemporary home has three levels. The living area sits at the top floor where the city and foothills views are best. Off the loft-style living room is a rooftop side terrace with a metal footbridge spanning the creek and connecting with the backyard playground. PV solar panels lie flat on the highest roof and all floors have hydronic heat.

Hower Architects assisted me with a $500K remodel at 3160 3rd (La maison du Soleil) as well as the design of 3123 3rd Street, both in Boulder’s Newlands area. Both homes turned out to be real traffic stoppers and Roland was always on time and within budget. I am very proud of how both homes turned out and of my association with Roland and Hower Architects.
